Established in 2015, the Bread of Life Mobile Food Pantry is a joint project of Harrisburg FUMC’s food pantry ministry and the Arkansas State University Wesley Foundation. This food pantry on wheels is sponsored by the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas and the Northeast District of the United Methodist Church. In the spring semester of 2016, the food pantry delivered food to 2 year college campuses in Newport, Marked Tree, and Beebe along with helping with the Backpacks for Kids program at Harrisburg Elementary School.
This year, Bread of Life Mobile is tackling 5 campuses in Northeast Arkansas. ASU- Marked Tree, ASU-Newport, ASUN-Jonesboro, and Black River Technical College in Pocahontas and Paragould.
Students pack grocery sacks on Monday afternoons at 2pm at Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Deliveries this semester will take place on Wednesday mornings and afternoons with the exception of Newport campus as noted below.
